Biography

Ana Sofia Azevedo Gomes was born in Lisbon on March 4, 1988, along with her twin sister Joana Rita Azevedo Gomes. Daughter of Gabriel Marques Gomes and Guida José Fernandes Azevedo Gomes, who also had a old sister called Sónia Patrícia Azevedo Gomes.
From an early age, both were interested in activities such as drawing, painting, molding, and everything related to creativity and art. They developed a passion for video games and everything related to animation.
They were always active people, because since children, they liked to participate in competitions, contests, events and projects in various areas. Sofia and her twin sister from their 10 years old, they began to travel a lot between the mainland of Portugal and the island of Madeira; as a result they have studied in several different schools.
Sofia developed an interest in the world of art at an early age and took a degree in Design at University of Madeira. Since then, she also took some c subjects belonging to another course related to Design Media Interactive such as Animation Multimedia, 3D, Design, Hypermedia Design, Modeling Vector Graphics and Graphic Design.
Sofia participated in some collaborative exhibitions and events related to art. In 2012 of June till Decemeber, she had a research scholarship at Madeira Interactive Technology Institute. Her favorite artists and designers are Yoshitaka Amano, Tetsuya Nomura, Glen Keane and Hayao Miyazaki. She likes the Asian culture, animation, digital art, videogames, 3D, illustration, graphic design, character design, typography, web design, patterns , Artbook and mangas.
